Professional pharmacy Services 14Taking care of your health is important, and your pharmacist can help you in many more ways than you may know! Check out what else we can do for you. There are many new services that Guardian - Island Pharmacy is offering. Easy. Accessible. Healthcare.

Compliance Packaging

We offer custom blister packaging to suit your needs. We have different options from once to four times daily dosing. New blister pack patients receive a consultation equivalent to the basic medication review service to ensure that they are receiving the maximum benefit. Our goal is to optimize dosing, and ensurie that conflicting medications are not taken at the same time. Blister packs make it easier to adhere to drug therapy. Patients may combine this service with the free delivery to make things even more convenient.

Continued Care Prescriptions

If required we can renew your regular prescription for a 30 day supply. Certain medications are excluded. There is no charge for this service.

Basic Medication Review. $52.50

The patient (or the patients agent) and the pharmacist review medical conditions, allergies, and medications. Attention is given to assessment for drug related problems, and optimizing drug therapy. The service is communicated to the physician, along with any pertinent information or recommendations. This service may be covered for pharmacare members.

Advanced Medication Review: $150

The patient (or the patients agent) and the pharmacist review in depth the patients medical history, conditions, allergies, past therapies, current therapy, successes and failures in treatment, barriers to drug therapy, current efficacy of therapy, and address any concerns that the patient may have. Patients who undertake this service have a more complicated regime and often take 4 or more medications.

Third Party Advice

We provide free advice to our patients regarding third party navigation. We can help you with choices such as whether or not to join the seniors pharmacare plan at age 65, to keep a private plan, or both. We offer guidance on alternate drug coverage opportunities that are in place in our province and how to join (family pharmacare). We help you to get the drugs that are covered by your plan, and can do a predetermination for coverage of a medication on your behalf.
